Mangalore, Aug 3: People of the coastal districts were stunned to hear the news of  three murders that took place in Mangalore and Shirady in  separate incidents on Aug 2, 2008

First incident:

Uppinangady: Mother, Child Brutally Murdered in Shiradi

Uppinangady, Aug 3: In a shocking incident, a mother and her 18 month old son were reported to be  brutally murdered near Addahole petrol pump in Shiradi on Saturday, August 2.


The deceased mother has been identified as Soumya. The name of her son is not yet ascertained. The murderer has been identified as Jayesh who is said to be absconding at the moment.

Her husband had gone to Sakaleshpur on a  road repair work when the incident took place.





Sources added that, the  mother was alone with her child inside the house when  Jayesh tried to rape her.  It is  suspected that she was murdered when she tried to resist him.

Second incident:

Mangalore: Unidentified Person Brutally Murdered at Naguri

Mangalore, Aug 3: An unidentified person was reported to be brutally assaulted and left to die near the national highway in Naguri on Saturday, August 2 evening.

Kankanady police rushed to the spot immediately upon hearing the news.  He was shifted  to the  Wenlock Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.








Sources said that the deceased  could be about 40 years old . His  body has been kept at the mortuary in the Wenlock Hospital. It is suspected that his neck was pierced with a sharp object.  The assault took place inside a garage which is located close to the national highway. Police are investigating.
