Mangalore: Foundation Stone Laid for Road Concreting Hampankatta-PVS Stretch

Mangalore, Aug 10: The foundation stone for road concreting work between Hampankatta to P V S circle, was laid on Sunday, August 10. 

The concreting work will be done at an expenditure of Rs 5.3 crore. Contractors have donated Rs 1.5 crore and the rest of the cost will be borne by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC). Speaking on the occasion, Yogish Bhat, MLA,  commended the contractors for their generous donation.




















The road between Hampankatta to Sharavu Temple will be concreted in the first phase. Traffic has been diverted to facilitate smooth movement of vehicles in the city. The road concreting work will be finished within two months, said MCC sources. 


Krishna Palemar, district in-charge minister, mayor Ganesh Hosabettu, deputy mayor Shakila Kava, Harinath, opposition party leader in the MCC, and former mayor Shashidhar Hegde were also present on the occasion.

    Rolphy, The contractor one who donated Rs1.5 core will be squeezed from the other MCC source, ie. other contracts will be awarded to him by MCC.

    Hope these so called concrete roads will have some steel reinforcement without which it may not last even a month. Thanks to the donators, I believe this contractor is the only one in India, who does have any interest in making profit.

    If the contractors are willing to give away 1.5 crores! one can only imagine how much more they have made and stashed away. The IT department should investigate these contractors sources and quantum of income.

    Good News.. Contractors have donated 1.5 crores... Which means.. 1.5 crores less on road... U can more or less calculate how much is really going to the Road...May be about 15 to 20 %....GOD SAVE US from all these corrupt people..
