I am a lady who travels daily from Udupi to Mangalore. The roads are horrible and it is rainy season too. The drivers have to struggle on the way to reach the destination on time. Otherwise time keepers won't allow them to stop. They are working for thier survival just like you and me. They are the bread winners of the family. If people behave like this just for silly reason, it will affect the harmony and also create problem for the people.

agree that the bus drivers drive rashly . But, who are these car occupants to beat them? According to police sources, there was already a compromise b/w the group and bus staff in the presence of police.But, when the same bus was doing its afternoon trip, the same rowdy group blocked the bus accopmanied by 30 supporters.They booted the driver and conductor mercilessly, not caring women and children present in the bus.

Its only for their rowdish behaviour, the locals came in rescue of the bus staff and dude to God's grace could save the poor unnamrmed bus crew.Seeing the huge crowd gathering, the rowdy car inmates fled the scene like cowards. Regarding, the damged car, the police say the car was damged by the rowdy group itself to allgedly file a false case gainst the locals for helping the bus crew.Nobody has the right to take law into their own hands.

I always read Daiji news and admire them. but this time it seems they have favored bus union. We everybody know these buswala people, they are the biggest gundas in Udupi –Mangalore roads. I think KFD have done police’s work. Well done KFD, in fact all people should teach these gundas same lesson when ever required.

Good pictures from Durga Digitals but the report is not clear. What KFD stands for? When car load of people assaulting the bus driver and the conductor, what the passengers on the bus were doing? Watching the show? Perhaps the bus passengers were all women wearing bangles!

I feel that there is much more to this story than what is reported. These private bus drivers are a bunch of uncivilized rogues. If you drive a car along the Mangalore - Udipi or Mangalore - Bantwal route, you are harassed by these private bus drivers. They think that they are the "Lords of the Roads". If the driver sees a car, he has to overtake it - come what may.

I have had the experience of a bus driver chasing me at speeds exceeding 100 KMPH and just after overtaking me, he stopped to pick up a passenger!. If I signal the bus driver and request to overtake him, he will never allow me to overtake him. Any small courtesies are against their religion. I feel that the "special treatment" given by the car occupants to the bus driver is justified. Maybe from tomorrow onwards there will be at least one civilized bus driver on Mangalore roads.

Daijiworld is always gives fair news. I feel something fishy here. You didn't mentioend about the above damaged car. Who damaged this car? You know that the Uchila route is Kambula route for the bus drivers. Many small and big accidents and many deaths reported in the past in Uchila route due to reckless driving by the Bus drivers. May be the story is different here. You have reported one side story. Pls brief us exactly what happened. We love and trust Daijinews.
