Mangaluru, Feb 25: Another recognition has come calling Shilpa of 'Halli Mane Rotties' fame, who came up in life due to steely determination through her street-side unit where homely food is prepared and dispensed. Shilpa was in news recently after Mahindra and Mahindra group chairman, Anand Mahindra, spotted an article about her and decided to give her a Mahindra Bolero van free of cost to further boost her business. Anand Mahindra had also tweeted thereafter that this vehicle was being given to Shilpa to enable her to open her second unit.
Shilpa has now been chosen for the annual 'woman achiever' award being given by Mahindra and Mahindra. The company has extended her an invite to attend the awards function being held at New Delhi on March 7. She has been provided flight tickets for onward and return journeys as well as hotel accommodation at New Delhi.
The company has chosen 16 women achievers from all over India, and Shilpa's name finds itself in this list. The company has also informed her that they would exhibit a feature film about her street-side vending business at the said function, and that for this purpose, people deputed by the company will soon visit her and conduct filming and documentation.
Shilpa, who is basically from Hassan, had risen to fame after reports about her appeared in the media. Shilpa said she is elated at this honour and recognition.
