Bengaluru, Mar 1: In a shocking incident, thirteen passengers in a Bengaluru-bound train were sedated with biscuits and robbed off their belongings. The incident happened on wee hours of Thursday.

According to reports, the passengers had boarded Yeshwantpur-Jodhpur Express and purchased biscuits from a group of youngsters, who were selling food on the train.

Soon after consuming them, the victims fell unconscious making it very easy for the robbers to decamp with gold, cash and luggage.

Around 4 am when the train arrived at the Gudur station in Nellore district, the passengers alerted the railway police and the unconscious people were shifted to a local hospital.

Of the thirteen, six of them are facing serious health complications due to the sedatives mixed in the biscuits.

The cops have launched a hunt and are checking CCTV footages and talking to eye witnesses to know how many people were involved in the crime and how they managed to flee. The police have also sent the food samples for investigation.

Robbed at knifepoint, escaped using cops bike

Meanwhile, in another incident on Thursday, two passengers of Bidar-Yesvantpur Express were robbed at knifepoint near Taticherla Railway station. The robbers were travelling in the general compartment and stopped the train by pulling the chain to escape.

While the railway police rushed to the passengers rescue, the robbers threw stones on them. RPF officer V K Meena was threatened with the knife and the thieves escaped on his bike.

The passengers who were robbed were from Raichur and another from Yesvantpur and have filed their complaints with the railway police.

Both incidents took place when the train was passing through Andhra Pradesh.
