Udupi, Aug 14: Dr Roshni Mathew, an alumna of Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar has been selected for a fellowship at the Stanford University in USA.
This is indeed a proud moment for Little Rock, because getting educated at Stanford University is a dream-come-true for any Indian. The Stanford University is one of the foremost varsities along with Harvard, Princeton, MIT and Yale in the USA. These are the most famous universities much like the Oxford and Cambridge universities in the UK.
Dr Roshni is an MD in Paediatrics from the University of Illinois, Chicago, where she is working presently. She will now be joining the Stanford University for a super-specialty programme (equivalent to DM in India) in Infectious Diseases.
Stanford is considered to be one of the world’s ten leading universities, whose uniqueness is seen from the fact that it has 18 Nobel Prize winners and 4 Pulitzer prize winners currently on its faculty. This University, spread over 8000 acres of land, is known to have the largest University campus in the world.
Roshni remembers all her teachers at Little Rock with profound humility and thankfulness for everything she could achieve in her life, for they had sown the seeds of knowledge and wisdom in her mind. Teachers are truly the architects of the future world of every student, she firmly believes.
Roshni is the eldest daughter of Prof Mathew C Ninan and Lali Abraham, principal and vice-principal respectively of Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar.
