Mangalore, Aug 14: The nursing service department of Father Muller College and Hospital held a programme recently, to express their gratitude to Cheriyol K Nair, on the occasion of her retirement after a meritorious service of 32 years in the hospital. Her long service was marked with dedication and selfless attitude.

The retiring nurse was trained by the Sisters of Charity. She imbibed their spirit and lived an exemplary life. She trained thousands of nurses in the clinical field and prepared them for the future.

Sr Aileen, nursing superintendent, welcomed the gathering. Director of the hospital Fr Patrick Rodrigues and the administrator Fr Stany Tauro praised her for her relentless service in the hospital and wished her well for her future.

The hospital and its staff are happy to know that she joins back the department to continue with her service to the mankind.

I have personally known Sr. Mrs. Cheriyol Nair from the time I was a kid since she was mummy's colleague at Fr. Mullers Hospital. She is a living example of the Christian way of life and has put even the clergy to shame by the way she upheld values and by her dedication to her profession. You could always see her busy doing her work and especially helping poor and illiterate patients, guiding them around and even arraging for medical & financial relief to such patients. With her retirement Im sure Fr. Mullers Hospital has lost a great pillar of compassion and dedication. I pray that the Lord Almighty bestow upon you a peaceful & contented retired life dear Dr. Cheriyol

I have known Ms. C. Nair for the past few decades as one of the most dedicated persons in the Nursing Services of F.M.C.I. She was a very willing worker and always went out of her way to help patients in general and the poor patients in particular. She always wore an infectious smile and put patients at ease. I am glad that Father Patrick, Father Stany, Father Denis D'Sa together with Sr.Aileen have appreciated her long dedicated service and put the same on record. Sister Nair can taken as role model for nurses. May her breed increase. Adious Sister Nair and God be with you in your future life. Joe Gonsalves
