Udupi, May 18: All India Congress Committee president, Rahul Gandhi, will skip visit to famed Sri Krishna Math in the city during his visit to coastal districts as part of his campaigning on March 20 and 21.
During the third phase of his hectic campaigning in the state, the concerned have made sure that Rahul will visit a temple, church, and Dargah as there is sizable population belonging to all these religions in this belt. He is scheduled to pay obeisance to Goddess Sharada at Sringeri Math but will not be visiting Sri Krishna Math.
After his arrival at Mangaluru international airport at 11.15 am on March 20, Rahul will be inaugurating Rajiv Gandhi National Academy of Political Education at Yermal Thenka near Padubidri in the district. He will also address a meeting of Sevadal volunteers of the party. He will then interact with the general public at Padubidri from 1.45 pm to 2.20 pm before moving to Suratkal, where he will address the people at 4.20 pm. His next programme of the day will be road show from Jyoti Circle at Mangaluru to Signal Point Circle between 5.20 pm and 6 pm. At 6, he will be speaking at the public meeting being held at 6 pm that day at Nehru Maidan. Thereafter, Rahul Gandhi will visit Kudroli temple, Rosario church, and Ullal Dargah.
Rahul will hold separate meetings with block Congress leaders and senior party leaders from twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on the morning of March 21.At 11.20 am on the same day, he will visit Sharadamba temple at Sringeri and meet Sri Bharatiteertha Swamiji of Sringeri Math. During this visit, he will also interact with the students of Rajiv Gandhi Sanskrit University Sringeri between12.25 pm and 1.10 pm. He will take part in a public meeting at Chikkamagaluru at 3 pm the same day.
Rahul will hold road show at Belur in Hassan district between 4.40 pm and 5 pm the same day followed by public meeting at 6 pm.
