CBSE paper leak: Class XII economics re-exam on Apr 25, Class X maths re-exam only in Delhi, Haryana

New Delhi, Mar 30 (Agencies): Amid outrage over leak of CBSE question papers, the government on Friday said re-examination of Class 10 maths paper will be held only in Delhi, NCR and Haryana, "if at all", while fresh Class 12 test for economics students will be conducted on April 25.

Anil Swarup, Secretary School Education in Union Human Resources Development Ministry, said the CBSE Class 10 mathematics question paper was leaked only in Delhi and Haryana as there was no evidence that it was a pan-India affair.

"The leak was restricted to Delhi and Haryana, if at all a re-exam will happen, it will happen only in these states in July. A decision will be taken on this in the next 15 days," Swarup told reporters.

He said the Class 12 economics re-exam will be held on April 25. But there will be no fresh test outside of India.

"Our immediate concern are the children who have suffered and this decision is in that context. We will nail the person who did this," he said.

More than 28 lakh students have been affected by CBSE decision on Wednesday to re-conduct examination for two papers of Class X and XII.

As per the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), a total of 16,38,428 and 11,86,306 students had registered for examination this year for Class X and Class XII respectively.

Thus, over 28 lakh candidates of both classes will have to re-sit in the exam due to the board's alleged inability to keep its question papers secure.

The board had announced it will re-conduct exams for Maths paper of Class X and Economics paper of Class XII after leak of both papers on social media message application. Exam in both papers were held on Wednesday.

The Union government had said a police investigation had been ordered, and assured the students and parents on the arrest of culprits soon.

More details awaited.

Same old story.Sufferers are the students .They have to spend time only by studies.Dont have the time to relax ,then beginns again new year ,new class, study again. Most worse is it takes a long time for result,Many have to loose time ,year inbetween. Why does this to them?leakage of papers depend on money, or brainless to pass? Govt. doesnt take responsibility here to secure the question papaers safety.
