Mangalore, Aug 26: Renvick Aranha who was washed away by strong currents of Shambhavi River near Mulky here has left his parents, siblings and near and dear ones in deep sorrow. It has been more than 24 hours eversince he drowned in Shambhavi river. But his body has not yet been found. The fire brigade personnel and local expert divers have been involved in search operations from Monday August 24 night itself. But all their efforts have gone in vain as of now.
Though young, Renvick had millions of dreams. Among all his other dreams, the greatest had been to study well and support his father and mother who have worked ceaselessly to bring him and his siblings up. While most of the boys of his age, may not be in the good books of his lecturers and teachers, he was an exception. He was loved not only by his peers but even by his teachers and lecturers. He would put in all his efforts to study well and spend his free time in a judicious manner.

He hailed from an economically poor family which is however, rich in values, virtues and goodwill. His father Claudy Aranha has been employed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His mother Jennifer had gone to Israel only four months ago, to support her husband in order to look after the welfare of their three children.
Claudy and Jennifer couple has three children. Renvick was the eldest. Their second child Renita is a I PUC student while the youngest Ritesh is studying in higher primary school. After Jennifer left for Israel, Renvick and his siblings were staying with their grandparents at Swamil Kudru near Mulky. It was only a fortnight ago that Renvick's grandfather had passed away. Even before his grandmother and other members of the family could come out from this shock, they are up against another shock. This time, a greater tragedy has struck them. Renvick who was the hope of the entire Aranha family has been snatched away by the cruel jaws of fate.
Ask in the college, neighbourhood, church or anywhere else. No one would say anything wrong against Renvick. He was loved and respected by all. He was studious. Even on Monday, he was in Vijaya College, where he was studying till 5.30 pm attending a special class. Thereafter he left the college for his home. On his way home, he saw his friends having bath in the Shambhavi river. He too ventured into the waters, but never came back.
Despite all this, there is still a ray of hope among all. The area where Renvick got into the waters is not known to be a danger spot and locals say that it does not consist of whirlpool either. There are no strong currents too. Since it had not been raining for last couple of days, Shambhavi river was not at its worst state. Accordingly some are hoping against the hope that Renvick might still come back.
Let this hope be realized. Let Renvick come back safe to realize not only his dreams, but the dreams his parents and family members had in him.
