Bengaluru: Congress or JD(S)? Actor Sudeep meets CM, two days after talks with HDK

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Apr 5: After an elaborate breakfast meet with JD(S) state chief H D Kumaraswamy on Monday, Kichcha Sudeep meeting up Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his residence on Thursday has raised eyebrows.

Sudeep had visited the CM to invite him for the inauguration of Kannada Chalanachitra Cup (KCC) cricket tournament to be held on Saturday.

Insiders reveal that Siddaramaiah used to opportunity to request Sudeep to campaign for Congress party in the upcoming state assembly elections.

The CM has also tweeted about Sudeep's visit.

However, speculations are rife that Sudeep is likely to join JD(S). Sources state that though H D Kumaraswamy offered him a ticket to contest the upcoming polls, Sudeep has declined the same but is likely to campaign for JD(S).

JD(S) MLC C R Manohar, who is producing Sudeep’s upcoming film Villain has also persuaded the actor to join JD(S).

Sudeep belongs to the Valmiki Nayak community which has a strong presence in Davangere, Chitradurga, Ballari and Raichur.

While Congress has Satish Jarkiholi, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Lakshmi Hebbalkar from the community, BJP has Sriramulu in Ballari, Raju Gowda and Balachandra Jarkiholi. However, JD(S) which does not have candidates from the community hopes to woo voters with Sudeep as their star campaigner.

However, now with CM Siddaramaiah extending an invite, Sudeep's fans are eagerly waiting to know which invite he will accept.
