Mangaluru, Apr 7: The newly renovated hall at Milagres Jubilee Hall at Hampankatta here was blessed by bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza on Friday, April 6.

The parish pastoral council under the leadership of parish priest Fr Valerian D’Souza led the renovation work on the 12-year-old hall so as to cater to the needs of people in a better way.

Addressing the gathering, bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza said, "I had several queries from people asking for air-conditioned hall for Catholic weddings. Hence, I requested Fr Valerian D’Souza to take up the renovation work here. We should provide the best service for people. People these days prefer air-conditioned hall due to the hot climate. This hall has been modified as per the needs of the people. This hall has been the center of attraction for all."

Earlier, a short prayer was conducted by Fr Edwin, assistant parish priest, Milagres Church.

During the inaugural programme, architect and engineers were honored.

In her vote of thanks, parish pastoral council vice-president Cecilia Pereira thanked all people who served in various ways to complete the hall renovation work in two months.
