Mangaluru: iVoomi phone explodes while playing game, lucky escape for owner

Mangaluru, Apr 8: A person at Farangipet here had a lucky escape on Saturday April 7 after his cellphone exploded while he was playing a game on it.

Shareek, a resident of Farangipet had purchased an iVoomi Me3S phone online for Rs 6,499. He recently downloaded a game on his new phone. On Saturday, while playing the game, he noticed sparks emanating from the charging point and immediately he threw the phone on the floor and got away to a safe distance. Within a few seconds, the phone exploded and caught fire.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Shareek said, "I shot video of the explosion with another mobile phone. I have already sent the video clipping and the photographs to iVoomi. Now I am waiting for a reply from them. If they do not give me a satisfactory answer, I will approach the consumer court."

    O Anna, no matter whichever ever mobile it is, you are not supposed to use it as it is getting charged. It's not the companies mistake. It's time and again specified not to use the phones when they are being charged but people don't listen. And when you play games mobiles get heatened up even more so this was a tragedy waiting to happen. I am surprised you had enough time to sit and reciord the incident with another cell. Be thnkful to God you are still alive inspite of your stupidity. What's the use of blaming technology when we don't know to use it to our advantage in the right way.

    China is the workshop for the world. There are some very good products also produced in China that are standardized and strictly quality checked by the USA, like iPhones. These are produced in China, bad quality. They are worse than Indian goods.

    Fellow countrymen! Now you tell me what all things should be banned from China? Our Mobile phone and all batteries are China,Laptops including Apple is made in China. Toys are same .Watches and even belts we wear are China. Can we actually live without Chinese goods? We say make it in India? Can you imagine the quality? and the price and GST? I do not think it is possible. Let the political issues handle themselves separately. In India we hate everything and it is in our blood.Example. We hate other political parties for the gain of our own! We hate and kill Dalits because of the cast system. We hate boys and girls walking together because of our Jealous nature. We hate mixed couple from other religion mingling with our own and we catch hold of them and thrash them. We hate beef eaters because cow is sacred? Yet we have the highest export of beef to others countries? How this is possible? We can slaughter cows in the temple sacrifices and justify the killing because God wanted it( As per Priests)? We have worst roads in Karnataka.Specially in Mangalore and yet we have few toll collection booths which collect toll and even increased the price recently? Where is the finished highway? How this is allowed without even completion of the roads? Sorry to say I use Chinese product and can not blame the products.Because it is the way we handle it.We do not take care of the gadgets and misuse it, then blame on the product or origin of the country! We can hate the politics and Dirty game china plays with us as a nation we have the right to fight! But while we all use China and its products in everyday life, then why hypocrisy? or double standard?

    Sometime ago one person from Pumpwell burnt his mobile to protest against Chinese products. But, nobody listens to him including Central Government.
