Mangaluru: Derebail accident – 16-year-old Nikitha Cutinha breathes her last

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Apr 9: Nikitha Cutinha, the 16-year-old II PU student of St Aloysius College who was knocked down by a speeding car driven by a woman opposite Derebail Church recently, passed away here on Monday April 9 after battling for life for weeks at a private hospital.

Nikitha who is the daughter of Noreen Crasta, a senior staff nurse of AJ hospital and Jerome Cutinha who works in Saudi Arabia, was waiting for bus on the roadside when the tragic incident occurred. She was in a very critical condition and doctors had reserved a period of 48 hours before giving further opinion on her chances of recovery. She breathed her last on Monday at around 9.45am.

The car was driven by Sharmila, a resident of Bengaluru who owns an apartment at Bejai Kapikad in city.

The rash and negligent driving by the driver was said to be the reason behind the mishap. She sustained major injury to her head resulting in haemorrhage and severe bleeding.

She was immediately shifted to AJ hospital by a Good Samaritan and was operated upon by reputable neurosurgeons of the hospital.

Very tragic. RIP. Speed limit needs to be posted and monitored. Otherwise, when there is less traffic, people will drive recklessly not to mention, sometimes there is distraction from cell phones. I am sure, frequent crackdown on vehicles exceeding speed with hefty fines will bring some discipline among drivers. Most of the Indian city roads are not suitable for exceeding 25-30 kmph even during hours where there is less traffic.

lord says your ways are not mine and my ways are not yours, your thoughts are not mine and my thoughts are not yours!!!
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts
for sure god was looking for an angel like you in heaven lets bow our head in front of his wish. instead of questioning him...
children are gods gift for some years to their parents and they are the property of god thats what we read in bible. and therefore it is his wish to take back whenever he needs. we are no one to ask him..

A little girl to her parents, to lay her rest, how they can see ???? It is very hard to them, to accept this. Sometimes, am thinking, God must be crazy, leaving behind somebody to cry in their whole life. Who gone through the same situation only can understand, what a pain they are in. They are saying God's hidden agenda's no one know. No words to console them now.

May her soul rest in peace and our condolences to her parents.

The problem lies with our outdated Motor Driving schools and corrupt RTO. Most driving instructors are poorly trained and can teach nothing more than clutch-gear trash and to put your hands outside the window to indicate a turn (it's so obsolete and unsafe).

We need western trainers to retrain all our drivers about the use of gears, pedestrian rights, driving around circles, using indicators and hazard, following road signs, speed control/accelerating-slowing down, use of side and rear view mirrors, lane discipline, shifting lanes, and licenses should be issued to only those who pass driving tests even if it means 5 or 10 attempts.

We have no right to endanger someone else's life.

    Little child Nikitha.

Sweet smelling flower that grew in the garden of love planted by her parents.
Was struck by tragedy coz of negligence on the road by a motorist.
What a n empty garden that will be for her mum and dad to see their lil flower wilt away right in front of their eyes.
No amount of comfort can soothe them now. Yet we have a hope that Nikitha will bloom in the glory of heaven being tended and watered by the Master himself.
Shine litle child like a candle in the dark and send your blessings upon your family here on earth for all that they have done for you and given you.

    In my prayers RIP

    RIP Nikita.
Salman got 5 years in jail for killing a black buck.
How many years Sharmila will get for this murder?
Let's wait and see the Indian justice.

Don't put behind bars, file a case against the woman and ask for heavy compensation so that they lose all the property and feel guilty for the mistakes.

May the departed soul rest in peace. Strict actions need to be taken on the lady driver, take her license and put her behind bars.

    As James Dean said

"Take it easy driving - the life
    you save may be mine"

It is sad to see that after so many awareness on driving still we can see rackless driving in and out of mangalore. Because of this innocent lives will be in geopardy. These things happens due to man made mistakes.

RIP Nikitha.. may your soul rest in peace
