Mangaluru, Apr 9: A gang of miscreants allegedly attacked three youths with sharp weapons at Bengre here on the night of Sunday April 8.
The three youths who were attacked have been identified as Anweez (17), Siraj and Ijaz. They have been admitted to a private hospital. Among them, Anweez's condition is said to be critical.
It is said that the three youths were on their way to Kasaba Bengre from Tannirbavi, when six masked miscreants waylaid their two vehicles near the football ground at Kasaba Bengre and attacked them.

Anweez was seriously injured in the attack while the other two managed to escape and inform their friends, who took them to a private hospital. On seeing Anweez lying critically injured at the football ground, the locals shifted him to hospital.
The motive behind the attack and the identities of the attackers are yet to be ascertained.
Panambur police station have registered the case and investigation is on.
