Kalaburagi, Apr 17: A video of a former BJP MLC, who was reduced to tears for not being awarded the ticket to contest the upcoming polls, is making rounds on social media.

Shashil G Namoshi was an aspirant for the BJP ticket for one of the two seats in Gulbarga. In the first list, BJP had named Dattatreya Patil Revur for Gulbarga Dakshin. Hence, Namoshi had pinned hopes to contest the election from Gulbarga Uttar. However, the second list released by BJP on Monday had C B Patil as the candidate, shattering Namoshi’s hopes.

In middle of a press conference, Namoshi broke into tears. The clip making rounds shows Namoshi trying to say something and later covering his face with his hands. His supporters are seen calming him down.

Namoshi was deputy mayor of Kalaburagi, which used to be known as Gulbarga. He was a member of the Legislative Council for 12 years.

Many aspirants, be it BJP or Congress are left disheartened when they did not find their names in the list. Congress workers had revolted in the party office, when denied tickets.
