Mangaluru, Apr 29: Sandalwood's renowned actor popularly known as 'Abhinaya Chakravarthy Kiccha' Sudeep released the audio of upcoming Tulu movie 'Katapadi Kattappa' in a glittering ceremony at Town Hall here on Sunday April 29.
‘Katapadi Kattappa’ directed by J P Tuminad is produced under the banner ‘Brahmavar Movies’.
Addressing the gathering Kiccha Sudeep said, "I am privileged to be part of this audio release event and witness such a huge crowd. Tulu language is always good to hear; people here have good control over their emotions as we can see Tuluvas, even when they shout at others, they do it with a smile on their faces. A film industry does not grow with money, a good director, a good story or a producer, it grows only when there is a positive objective and unity, which I see today in this closed room.”
He further said, "Tulu film industry is old and a very big industry. Th first Tulu movie came out in the year 1971. I salute those producers who bankroll a Tulu film and enable the industry to grow to greater heights. The poster of 'Katapadi Kattappa' has come out well and I can see that confidence among the entire team.
"It has been two decades since I entered the film industry. I realized that if you know what you want you will definitely get it, no matter how difficult it is. I went after it and achieved it. I have got enormous support from the people of Mangaluru when I was here for the shoot," he added.
Kiccha Sudeep turned down the organizers' request to felicitate him on the occasion, and said, "It has been five years since I have sat on a felicitation chair. The garland and shawl you offer me will be waste; at least if that shawl is given to the poor in winter they can make use of it. The garland will go waste once I leave the premises. People's support is greater than a felicitation."
There was a special dance performance from Sizzling Guys on the occasion. Saheel Rai compered the programme.
Scores of people gathered at Town Hall to get a glimpse of Kiccha Sudeep and chanted his name.
Lead actor of Katapadi Kattappa Uday Poojary, Actress Charishma, Barker Yagnesh, Director J P Tuminad, Producer Rajesh Bhramavar, Actor Bojaraaj Vamanjoor, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Pammi Kodialbail, Sharmila Kaapikaad, Avinash Shetty, Anvitha Sagar and others were present.
