Jebel Ali: JAKC Celebrates Feast of Nativity

Jebel Ali, UAE, Sep 7: Jebel Ali Assisi Konkani Community (JAKC) celebrated the Feast of Nativity (Birthday of our Blessed Mother Mary) on 6th September 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Jebel Ali.  Mass in Konkani was celebrated by Rev Fr. Freddy D’Souza our Spiritual Director at 8 PM to a fully packed Church.  

In a traditional Mangalorean style the Paddy, was brought to Altar in a procession and blessed by the priest.  Offertory procession also included the flowers, fresh vegetables, Mother Mary, Bread & Wine. 



























At the conclusion of the Mass all children offered flowers to the Mother Mary in the traditional way 

A scrumptious vegetarian dinner was served to the congregation with warne to savor as dessert.    

Fr. Eugene, Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Jebel Ali was overjoyed at the overwhelming participation of the Konkani Speaking congregation.  John Monteiro, President JAKC thanked the Priests, the donors, Choir members & JAKC members who supported in making the feast possible.
