Davanagere, Sep 8: Protest against alleged conversion took violent turn on Sunday and a church was set on fire at Bada village in Davangere district. The police have taken 10 persons into custody in this connection.
The miscreants first attacked the some people who were returning from prayer and later set the church on fire. Cement ceiling, window panes and doors of the church were damaged in the attack. The police had a tough time in dispelling the mob gathered in the church premises.

Security has been stepped up in the village and the Karnataka State Reserve Police force has been deployed. Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil visited the spot.

The protest was being held condemning alleged conversion of 300 Hindus. However, pastor E Lucas denied the allegation saying that those who wanted peace of mind voluntarily visited church and offered prayers. “I’ve been preaching here since 1991 and the church was built five years ago,” he said. However, he has not registered complaint against anybody in this connection and claimed ignorance regarding the reasons behind the sudden attack .

3 churches closed

Meanwhile, the Davangere City Municipality Corporation has ordered closure of three churches which have been allegedly functioning without licence.

Following complaints from a section of community the municipality had asked DHM Prarthana Mandira of Jayanagar, Nityajeeva Devalaya of Srirama Layout, Esu Prarthanalaya of Shivakumaraswamy Layout to submit the records before September 6. As the churches failed to furnish valid documents, they have been ordered to close down and deadline has been extended for three more days.

Tension prevailed for a while when the churches were locked and many offered prayers outside the churches. Prohibitory orders had been promulgated in the 200 metre radius of these churches between 6am to 6 pm.

BJP Government at the state sends letters and warns on issues not on BJP agenda the previous day. Next day we hear that at night the Fundamentalists and religious police wing of BJP has set fire or has attached the institutions. what a combination and working together of the power.

We must celebrate 100 days in power as we have seen, feeling and are living under the power. Let us use this power for the betterment, growth, development and security for the common man. Use the power the public gives you by electing you for the safety and security of every citizen in the state....

BJP is supporting VHP and Bhajdal, to attack Christians and Muslims. Its a shame for India, a governemnt like BJP is behaving like Hitler. This Hitler governement must fall and all must pray without ceasing till the BJP fall down completley.

If David could defeat Goliath, why the same thing happen to BJP, who are indirectly killing Christians. I pray that this BJP government will be vanquished sooner than we think. Our God Almighty will do this for HIS children. 100 days are over and next 100 days the fall of BJP in Karnataka. Pastor E. W. Frank

Well said Mr. Shahnawaz. First of all the BJP and its Singh Parivar want the renaissance of Brahminism in India. They are brain washing the lower class bracket youngsters inculcating the religious sentiments. How long they will go on as their own people are already fed up of violence, destruction.

I had very bad experience 25 years back when I was working for a Company in Mangalore. At that time there was match between India and England & India won. These Brahmin colleagues straight away told me that you guys are supporting England, isn’t it. Everybody of them were graduates. I felt so bad and painful about their comments.

My question is very straight. If you wear black glass the world looks like black. What they are showing is their own self. We Christians will not take arms to protect ourselves as there are many ways to protect and protest. Even the strongest Nazi fascist movement has utterly failed in Germany and today Germans are ashamed of it. Watch and see, history always repeats.

Is that the government you are running for us? Why cant your government start uplifting the poor and down trodden. Why cant your government put a stop to these blind faithed radicals?

Where are our so called secular MLAs? Why cant they raise their voice in the assembly as Mr JayaPrakash Hegde of Brahmavar raised his voice against the incident of a muslim old man stripped by these radicals??? Are they afraid to speak? A million dollar question to the readers of Daiji news column.

This is the beginning! What we see today is the tip of the ice berg of hidden BJP agenda in Karnataka. I recall and remind you Christian brothers, of the visit of CM Mr Yeddi to the churches, promising them security. Wait and watch for the future happenings. Terrorism breeds terrorism. Time is not far away our peace loving and community serving Christian brothers would take up arms and struggle against these radical organisations. India is falling apart and the core fabric of secular India is being pledged against the democracy.

In BJP ruled state no mosque, no church or gurudwara is safe. Whatever comes, we are loyal to India and loyal to our religion. But are born Indians and shall die Indians. But ready to die protecting our places of worships and for our religion of which we are proud followers. But we shall not inflict any harm or pain on others in what they believe and what religion they follow. It is our birth right and no one can snatch that right from us.

Even if there were conversions produce them before the court, who are you to punish and take law in your hand? Then we do not need police, do not need Govt. let the miscreants rule. Close down the legislature, judiciary, executive bodies of the Govt. because these antisocial elements are doing everybody"s work.

I wanted to share a story with all of you. When i was a child i and my friends use to play a game called " Kalla-Police" ( Thief-Police) where police has to catch a thief and police has to act like he is beating the thief and thief has to act like he is crying ( i think most of us played this game) I think now in Karnataka same thing is happening. If police catches these Theifs means you can guess what is going on behine the scene

Off course these Community Members visit Houses and villages with the Bible and spreading the News of Jesus Christ - but in a different version(Not The Orginal Bible Version)

Hence this Must be notified to Authorities and to be stopped. This is Why our Hindu Brethrens are angry about christians.Specially they Target innocent Roman Cathoilc Brothers and sisters due to they only know our religion since we have Institutions, Churches which are visible.

Dear Readers Please pass this informations to the concerned authorities. Let us Restore Peace in our Community and Country.

Friends, please stop being a part of dirty politics, Please note that the according to science the man came from animal got knowledge and became civilized. Now what happened to our culture? Why we are becoming animal? What is that which works behind it? Why government is so irresponsible.

What happened to Human Race? The recent instances are pointing out that man again became animal in the name of religion. Our politicians are playing a dirty game. Please Indians open your eyes and see look for the peace and don’t make pieces When people got civilized they made religions to get more good for the society.

The summary of all religion is to spread the Goodness, Love and Peace. We have to respect the feelings of our fellow beings.

This is the time for innocents Hindu, Daliths, Seculars groups, Muslims, Christian and all kind of backwards people join one hand to-build the power of nation, which should have equal rights of justice, secure and real freedom. wake-up indians.....

Nothing will happen, you have vote again to BJP to bring them in super power so that they can declare India a total RSS state. where rule and law is in the hands of bajarangi and plan according to RSS. Hence please vote for future India, which will be piece by piece with in a short time. Your children will divide in to sect, cross sect upper cast, lower cast and then religion etc.

This type of story will be part of daily news and no one will be arrested thanks to govt and police, because they are part of govt machinery. I mean they are part of minsitry of religion. So we should soon have hindu police, muslim police and christian police too to protect church and masjid.
