Byndoor, May 8: Firebrand Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Byndoor on Tuesday May 8 to campaign for BJP candidate Sukumar Shetty.
Addressing the gathering Yogi said, "We need to strengthen PM Modi's hands in building new India. Fishermen community of the region has been supporting the BJP since the state government has failed to fulfill their demands. The state government has failed to protect youth from the coast and Karnataka has become a hub for jihadis. Instead of concentrating on development of the state, we have witnessed killing of Hindu activists. The state government failed to create jobs. The central grants have been looted. Since Modi came to power the country has seen change and the present central government has become a voice for the poor.
"The present Congress government is corrupt. They do not celebrate Shivaji Jayanti, instead they celebrate Tipu Jayanti. Lord Hanuman is our model whereas for the Congress it is Tipu Sultan. We rule without any bias whereas the Congress supports jihadi minds," he said.
He asked why Siddaramaiah becomes uncomfortable seeing him campaign in Karnataka. "In Karnataka the farmers and the youth are in distress. That is why I am here. I have waived off farmer loans in UP but why Siddaramaiah did not? We have given a roof to live for almost 12 lac poor, we have provided electricity and built toilets. We are ahead in providing LPG cylinders too. The central schemes have not reached Karnataka. Development, youth and farmers are not their priority. They want to make Karnataka as their ATM. BJP activist’s murder and supporting jihadis is their agenda,” he alleged.
Yogi further urged everyone to vote for Sukumar Shetty. Before addressing the gathering, Yogi offered prayers to Kollur Mookambika temple, Hattiangady Siddivinayaka, Kamalasile Durgaparameshwari.
BJP candidate B M Sukumar Shetty addressing the gathering said, "The present assembly elections held in the state are definitely the fight between Dharma and Adharma. In the last 18 years the Congress MLA has done nothing for the development of this constituency, hence the people will send him back," he said urging everyone to vote with discretion in the polls.
Byndoor BJP unit felicitated the UP CM on the occasion.
Following UP CM's visit, the police had beefed up security in the region.
He took part in a huge a rally at Trasi attended by thousands of supporters.
Women's wing state president Bharathi Shetty and other BJP leaders were present.
