Sharjah, Sep 11: It was a brave journey by our fellow brothers and sisters, leaving their loved ones back home, came to seek better employment in the Gulf, to provide better life for their family.

In spite of their busy schedule they were attending church services in different languages which inspired them to have a worship service in their own language. This burning desire led a small group of people to hold cottage prayer meeting in Kannada on 14th August 1998 . Kannada worship began as a cottage prayer led by Max Karkada at his residence with 19 young people. Bro. Bakthanand energized the group with Lords message.

This is how Kanarese congregation was born. Further three prayer meetings were held in  Wilson Karkada,  Vijaykumar Gundi and Vanita Karkada’s respective residence which is an unforgettable favour, Hyms books and Holy Bibles were donated by Muscat Kannada Congregation.

A special thanks giving service will be held to commemorate this special day on Saturday, 13th September 2008 at St. Martin ’s Church, Sharjah at 6.30 pm followed by  spiritual entertainment and fellowship dinner.

Rev. John Weir, Senior Chaplain of Holy Trinity Church will be the chief guest and  Max Karkada, Ex-Chairman and founder member of UKC will be the guest of honour.

Unity Kananda Church from Dubai & Sharjah cordially invites you with your family on the auspicious occasion of their 10th ANNIVERSARY celebration.

Congratulations to the President and Members of Unity Kannada Church,on your 10th anniversary. I wish you all the best in the years to come. It was my pleasure to associate with Unity Kannada Church in the initial stages and I had the privilege of preaching God's word in your church couple of times. Anniversaries are the time for celebration and to look back and think about God's blessings on us.

God has nurtured and protected this young congregation in the past and He will continue to do so in future. Unity Kannada Church has done well in serving the Kannada speaking congregation in a foreign land and I hope that this Church will continue to grow from strength to strength. Regards, Santosh
