Big win for Congress in RR Nagar as Muniratna defeats BJP's Muniraju by huge margin

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (DC)

Bengaluru, May 31: Congress candidate Muniratna has won from Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency by a huge margin of over 25,000 votes against the BJP candidate here on Thursday May 31.

Congress candidate Muniratna had maintained a huge lead of 33,000 votes against BJP’s Muniraju Gowda. In the final tally, Muniratna garnered 1,08,064 votes while Muniraju polled 82,572 votes, and JD(S) came third with 60,360 votes.

Towards the penultimate rounds of counting, Muniratna had secured 1,03,195 votes, followed by BJP candidate with 69,769 votes and the JD(S) 54,289 votes. Independent candidate Huccha Venkat had secured 514 votes.

"We won the RR Nagar seat with huge margin, the people of Bengaluru have blessed us," said Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao.

The elections to the Assembly segment were deferred due to the seizure of 9,564 Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) from an apartment at Jalahalli.

Following the directions of the Election Commission, police investigated the matter and registered a case against many people, including Congress candidate Munirathna.

The constituency has 4.71 lakh voters including 2.25 lakh women. There are 421 polling stations in the constituency. After the May 12 assembly elections, the equations have changed dramatically with political rivals Congress and JD(S) becoming coalition partners in the government. However, senior leaders of both the parties held road shows seeking votes for their respective candidates. The BJP, too, put in all its efforts to ensure the victory of their candidate Muniraju Gowda.

    Because mass tampering of the EVMs can be done mass programming of how it should switch votes.
    For one or few seats, EVM reprogramming does take a lot time to rewrite program codes as the dates and candidates have to be rewritten.
    An electronic machine can always be tampered but not a human marker.
    Why the Supreme Court does not stop this menace.

    @Alex, Mangalore

    The confidence with which you are responding to EVM tampering, I am inclined to believe that you may actually be the person-in-charge of tampering!!

    Just laughable the excuses that people come up when they are in denial that their favoured political party has not got what it wanted. Of course, anyone can blame anything on the EVM. After all it is just a machine and cannot talk back.

    Then you ask as to why the Supreme Court does not stop this menace!! What menace? Are you expecting SC to stop EVMs just because your favoured political party is not winning elections anymore? The SC needs EVIDENCE to act, not your sentiments or the tears of a cry baby political party. And for your kind information, few losing candidates have in-fact knocked the doors of HC and SC in the past alleging no-confidence in the EVMs, and on each such occasion, the HC / SC has upheld the integrity of the elections held through EVMs (the last one was after the Uttrakhand elections).

    If you think you have any new evidence against EVMs that has not been tested in the courts previously, you are more than welcome to file a PIL in the HC / SC. But I guess that is not going to happen, simply because no one has any shred of evidence to back up their claim of EVM tampering.

    Moreover, what is the alternative to EVMs? Do you want to go back to ballot paper? Ask your dad and grand-dad. They would definitely tell you the extent of violence and malpractice that were ripe in the use of ballot paper back in 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

    You must be a nutcase who cannot understand what is an EVM does and how it operates.
    It is controlled by an electronic board where a program has been in operation. A programmer can program a machine can be made to give a result 2+2 = 5.
    If all countries that are in Europe and West including Canada and USA can use still the ballot paper for voting, how come India which is known for corruption which is 138th in the list of 200 odd countries can use an EVM for its voting.
    All these countries use still ballot papers, but the counting is done through the machines scanning the ballot papers. And still if there is a difference of 5% in the votes of the winner, the loser can still ask for manual recount.
    Now is the era of artificial intelligence, where the program itself takes over how it should function ( same like in robots ). And hence manipulating any votes is very easy if that is taken over by program aided machines.

    @Alex, Mangalore,

    So, you are the genius who knows everything about EVMs? Why don't you approach any of the losing congress candidates from our region and ask them to file a write petition in the HC against the election result. Surely, you could stand by as an 'expert witness' to demonstrate how the whole EVM has been tampered with.

    But I guess that is not going to happen. Because, talking about possibility is one thing; but logically demonstrating its plausibility and probability is an altogether different matter, which no nutcase who has approached the HC / SC has ever been able to prove.

    I know that 2+2 could be 5 or even 22 depending on the way it is programmed. However, how do YOU know that 2+2 is not actually 4 in an EVM; and that all but one congress candidate lost in our twin districts because more people voted for BJP than Congress?

    No one has been able to prove anything in any judicial forum; and no one showed up when the EC threw open the EVM challenge to skeptics like you. Yet election after election, the same raga of EVM tampering continues. Simply laughable and nothing else.

BJP supporters were boasting when states in North, one-by-one, came into the fold of BJP, that whole India will be BJP - look now, its in Karnataka that BJP got a proper rival.

    From here on, every state that comes to vote, will be vigilant about the cheating party. Starting Goa, and NE where BJP forcefully took to the power chair throwing democracy in the bin.

    The BJP leading only in Gomia Jharkhand and in Palghar Maharastra. In all the other constituencies BJP and its allies are getting thrashed. Modi's Waterloo looming large in May 2019. The nation should be wary of the RSS/BJP dirty tricks in the coming months to polarize society as they are clearly seeing the writing on the wall.

    The BJP even lost in Gomia Jharkhand to JMM candidate and only in Palghar Maharastra, BJP won.

    Out of 11 assembly election, Congress won in 4 assembly seat,. One each in Punjab, Meghalaya, Maharastra and Karnataka.

    BJP won only one seat ie in Palghar Maharastra,.

    Ban EVM and the true results will come. In DK/Udupi, it was only EVM machines played a big role for the defeat of Congress leaders with huge margin, specially in Udupi, Kapu.

    I have been mentioning every time that by polls are won by other parties than BJP. because in one or two seats they cant play with EVM's

    This is proved again now.........

    If again they conduct the election in Karnataka sure more than 150 seats will go to Congress.....
