Mangaluru: Man orders birthday gift for son from Amazon, gets onions instead!

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 31: A birthday wish of a five-year-old remained unfulfilled after an online e-commerce portal delivered onions instead of a toy-helicopter.

Mohammed Shaffi, an accountant residing in Neermarga here had ordered a toy helicopter which could be operated via remote control, costing around Rs 1200 as a birthday present for his son on online shopping portal Amazon.

He received the order on Thursday May 31, and to his shock, he found two onions instead of the gift he was waiting for.

"My son, who was really excited about the helicopter, was upset. This is not our first order on Amazon, but this is the first time onions were delivered. When customers get cheated in this fashion, they lose trust in online shopping," he told Daijiworld.

Shaffi later got in touch with the Amazon customer care and sent photos of the package and its contents.

"Amazon has promised me full refund," he said.

May be Gods wish that the remote helicopter did not reach to your 5 year old son. My advise is to you that it is really dangerous to give a remote copter to below 18 year old kids. I have been using these type of toys and found they are really dangerous due to its blades can injure your body parts if they get in contact. I suggest you to give a drone instead of helicopter. drones are safe and the cost is almost the same as helicopter.

Iam sure here the fault is not from onlne shopping centre.Afterall there is a long way from amazon and its custmer s house. How many times we order online a laptop or a mobile, and one gets a stone in the package .There are so many crooks who takeout precious things and replace some thing useless. In future online senders should think of hiding a chip in their sendung to make sure who are the criminals.Hope the birthday boy gets his gift oneday somehow.
