8-year-old boy drowns in rivulet following heavy rain in Beltangady

Beltangady, Jun 3: An 8-year-old boy lost his life after being washed away by rainwater at a rivulet near his residence at Bandaru village here on Saturday June 2.

The deceased has been identified as Kaushik, son of Vadappa Gowda and Yashodha from Yerbudelu.

The incident occurred on Saturday at around 5 pm when Kaushik was standing near the stream. He got drowned after being washed away by the sudden flow of rainwater.

Kaushik was the second among three siblings.

He is survived by parents, brother Karthik and sister Kavya.
