Mangaluru, Jun 3: A local senior BJP leader passed away on Saturday June 2, days after he took ill following his party's loss in Ullal constituency in the recent assembly elections.

Devappa Kulal (60), an RSS and BJP leader of Naringana, breathed his last after battling for life for several days in hospital.

It is said that on May 15, the day of the counting for assembly elections, Devappa received news on phone that BJP candidate from Mangaluru (Ullal) constituency Santosh Rai Boliyar had lost to Congress' U T Khader.

Speaking at a thanksgiving programme of BJP workers on Sunday June 3, Santosh Rai Boliyar said that Devappa had been actively involved in his campaigning. The news of his loss shocked Devappa and he fell ill, he said. Devappa had been admitted to hospital, where he passed away.

A condolence meet was held at Montepadavau for Devappa on Sunday during which local party leaders, workers and well-wishers paid their last respects.

In the last four years, at least, we have reformed our cultured thinking to this level. Even in death we all want to mock rather than wishing the soul rest in peace. Does not matter which party an individual belongs; it is his prerogative. However, as responsible, educated, literate and cultured people - we can at least console the berieved family. Otherwise there is no difference between the politicians and common people

Party workers who belonged to bjp..there affiliation with party running in each and everybody's vein. In part of congress workers there affiliations with party only remain upto one quarter finished along with Rs.500/-.
For that reason today BJP party stand one of having largest members in the world. We cannot claim..death of Devappaji is occured due to after-shock. It's nothing but excuse to overcome loss. His time finished...left .maasalam.

Who are we to control some one's life. You will be agitating when others dictate terms to your life style including your food habits. Here, Devappa too has his right to work for the party which he is convinced.

First of foremost, for me, he is a human being and the man from Kudla/Mangalore. I have not seen life after death and I will not bother about it.

    RIP.

These old timer party worker, who are also common man, they work whole heartedly to the party unless the present young lads, majority are for benefits.

He lost life forever and his family/children have lost him also forever. The so called leaders might be enjoying life, luxury with power and money.

I have stopped working for any political party and started concentrating on myself and my family.

    RIP Devappa.

It prove by yourself..one of selfish guy..thinking of one self and family.
When you dont want to continue in the party..why did you.joined in the beginning...?? Better would have sit at home..and enjoyed Gin mix with Lime Juice daily. At least try to learn from Devappaji..and rejoin the party once again and hog day n night. Looks like you need tensionless surroundings.
If every individual starts to think like yourself how party organization run..????

How can you say that I am a member of political party. No where I had mentioned it but I have said, I have stopped working for any political party.

Taking care of myself is not selfish rather it is self empowerment. I want to depend on myself. That is why I chose not to waste my time involving myself, working for any political party.

How many youths are rotting in jails, who have supported fringe groups and most of them are hailing from poor family back ground and brain washed by the fringe group leaders. The leaders children are studying in English medium school and then migrating to Western Countries where as these poor family youths spoiled their career.
