Sullia, Jun 5: A home guard worker posted on duty within Subrahmanya town limits was found in the company of a female colleague in a lodge at Subrahmanya on the night of Sunday, June 3.
The home guards personnel working in the town are provided accommodation in the choultry run by the temple. Separate facility is in place for male and female personnel. Staff of a nearby lodge saw on Sunday night that a male colleague had visited the accommodation meant for women. Noticing that the man and a woman were together till late night, they alerted the temple staff. The matter reached the local police station after which the concerned were asked to be present at the station where they were questioned.
On Monday, parents of both of them were summoned to the police station. Bonds of good conduct were got executed by them before sending the home guards with a warning. The lady claimed that her friend had visited her to deliver dinner to her.
Subrahmanya police sub-inspector, Ramesh Pawar, said that the matter has been settled amicably between the parties concerned. District commander of home guards, Dr Muralimohan Choontar, said that action would be initiated against the employees concerned if a written complaint is received and it is proved that the two were indulging in immoral activities.
