Udupi, Jun 5: Former MLA and Congress leader Pramod Madhwaraj handed over eight newly constructed houses to the members of poor and needy families on Monday, June 4. The houses were constructed due to the timely contributions of various donors in different parts of Udupi.
Addressing the gathering, Madhwaraj said, “These houses were built by donors led by Goutham Agarwal, who is in-charge of Udupi Utsav and proprietor of Sai Radha. It is a government project that aimed to provide houses for poor, sightless and needy families. It plans to construct 100 houses, out of which, eight houses were constructed in Udupi. Each house was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.5 lac.” Adding to it, he also thanked all the donors for their contribution and effort.
Pramod Madhwaraj handed over the newly constructed house in Kallianpur to a beneficiary Gange Pujarthi. He also presented another house built near Thottam church to Krishnappa Kotian. The other four houses constructed in Thottam, near Purtado guest house were handed over to beneficiaries Jalaja, Sushila and others.
While a house built by contributors in Nitte was transferred to a beneficiary Radhu Poojarthy, the house built at Gajjarbettu was handed over to another beneficiary Sanki.
