Chikkamagaluru, Jun 5: BJP senior leader K S Eshwarappa on Monday responding to Pejawar Swamiji’s statement said that he was ready to take the seer to River Ganga if get gets an opportunity. His comments came after the Pejawar seer had openly expressed displeasure over the performance of Modi-led NDA government especially in fulfilling poll promises.
It may be recalled that Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling some of the promises he had made before assuming office.
“Modi had promised to bring back black money hoarded abroad and to clean River Ganga. But these have not been done. But I agree that the government has succeeded somewhat where the country’s economy is concerned,” Swamiji had said.
Responding to Swamiji, Eshwarappa said, “I am shocked by Swamiji’s statement. The condition of River Ganga was not good. But after the NDA government took over, it has taken several measures to clean Ganga and tackle black money. Pejawar Swamiji may not have seen Ganga in the recent past. The condition at Ganga has improved and if I get an opportunity I will take Swamiji to River Ganga.”
While commenting on Congress-JD(S) alliance, Eshwarappa said that both the parties were power-hungry and opportunists. “They have united to defeat Modi but the people of the country will not trust them,” he said.
