Bengaluru, Jun 7: As Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dr G Parameshwar, has been made the deputy chief minister of the state, there is likelihood of someone else being given the mantle of the state Congress. The names of M B Patil, former minister, who has been surprisingly denied the post of the minister or Dinesh Gundu Rao, working president of KPCC, may get this post, sources say. M B Patil had spearheaded movement seeking separate religious status to Lingayat.
Prolonged discussions were held with national president of Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, in the presence of various leaders on this issue. It is said that Rahul Gandhi has asked Dinesh Gundu Rao to be ready to become KPCC president.

In the meanwhile, nominated member of the Legislative Council, Dr Jayamala, happens to be the lone lady in the new cabinet. For the assembly chief minister happens to be the leader of the House. As per rule, if there is a minister among the Legislative Council members, he or she becomes leader of that House automatically. As such, Jayamala will become the leader of the House in the Legislative Council.
