Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (UM)

Udupi, Jun 6: A gram panchayat member of Kadekar has allegedly committed suicide due to personal problems. The incident is said to have taken place on the night of Thursday June 7, but came to light on June 8.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh (31), a resident of Laxminagar.

It is learnt that Rakesh was going through marital problems. Two months ago, he reportedly had a fight with his wife, after which she moved out with their young son. Since then, Rakesh had been staying alone.

Rakesh left behind a death note in which he stated that he was taking the extreme step as he was mentally disturbed, and that no one else was responsible for his death.

In the note, he also requested his friends to donate his body to KMC hospital, adding that it was his last wish.

Rakesh was a BJP member of Kadekar gram panchayat.

A case has been registered. Police said that steps will be taken to fulfil Rakesh's dying wish to donate his body.

It is unfortunate. May Kadekar soul rest in peace. Some person comments are callous. The person who is committing suicide undergoes too much mental stress. At that time only Empathy and excellent support are required. One request to all Religion leaders instead of wasting time in politics help Mentally Disturb persons and avoid suicides, please.

Is donating body a fashion ? People donate so that organs can be implanted into the needy. Such donation is made while still alive (say, brain-dead or accident). What KMC will do with your suicide remains ? Let students study about what happens upon taking the measures you took to die ?

Can't face domestic problems, what will these people face GP level problems ?
