Mangaluru: Four injured after huge peepal tree falls near Mangaladevi temple

Mangaluru, Jun 8: Four persons were injured after a huge peepal tree fell near Mangaladevi temple here late evening on Friday June 8, following heavy rains.

The injured have been identified as Surekha (63), Praveen Suvarna (49), Naveen (45), and Tejaswini (20).

All of them sustained minor injuries and have been admitted to different hospitals.


A vehicle was also damaged in the incident.

CCTV footage showed that as the tree started to fall, people at the spot panicked and started running for their lives.

Pandeshwar police arrived at the spot and undertook measures to shift the fallen tree.
