Mangaluru: Musical play ‘Moladhik Mothim San Rita’ enthrals houseful audience

Mangaluru, Jun 11: Musical play on St Rita titled ‘Moladhik Mothim San Rita’, enthralled the houseful audience at Don Bosco Hall in city on Monday, June 10. The drama was directed by Arthur Rasquinha.

Another short play ‘Chor Sorgar’, a socio-comedy with strong message on faith, also was a big hit among the drama lovers. This play was directed by Alwyn Tauro.

In between the plays there was a short stage function where the sponsors were honoured. Rector of Rosario Cathedral Fr J B Crasta, parish priest of St Rita Church Cascia Fr Harold Mascarenhas, musician Fr Jayaprakash D’Souza, writer Ron Roche Cascia, playwright Lawrence D’Souza, Allwyn Tauro, Sophia Tauro, Jossy Theodore and Nirmal D’Souza were present on stage.





 

Nirmal D’Souza, president of ‘Abhaya Friends’, an association engaged in social service, wished all the best for the drama on behalf of dignitaries.

Fr J B Crasta handed over an amount Rs 41,000 to Fr Harold Mascarenhas, as contribution for the welfare of St Rita Kannada Medium School Teachers of Cascia. The amount was the excess of income over expenditure of drama, made possible by producer Allwyn Tauro.

Jossy Theodore welcomed. Alwyn Tauro proposed vote of thanks. Floyd D’Mello compered.

Daisy, Lydia, Jossy, Norman, Sylvia, Jiya, Cyril, Ashok, Stany, Mable, Elston, Jenevive, Lorraine, Minora, Veronica, Rishal, Nikil, Pritesh, Sonal, Anil, Babitha, Oshin, Veera, Jennica were actors in the ‘Moladhik Mothim San Rita’ drama. Stany Machado played the role of Jesus. The play was co-directed by Jerome Moras. Music was provided by Joel Pereira. Steven Fernandes did the stage setting and the scenes arrangement was by Alwyn Bajal. Fr Roopesh Madtha rendered voice for narration of the story.

Philip Pereira, Allwyn Tauro, Steven Fernandes, Urban, Kevin D’Souza, Sandeep Ferrao and Philip L acted in the ‘Chor Sorgar’ drama. Music for this drama was provided by Simon Pais.

Both the plays were written by Lawrence D’Souza Cascia. Jerry Concessao was the stage manager. Arun Electricals and Chris Electronics provided lights and sounds respectively. Alwyn Tauro was the producer of both plays.
