Mangalore: Trench Collapse Leaves Two Injured in Derebail

Mangalore, Sep 21: Two labourers were severely injured after a trench collapsed near Karnataka Bank in Derebail, on Sunday September 21.









The injured have not yet been identified. Sources confirmed that they hail from the northern part of the state and were engaged for the purpose of digging the trench. The two were rushed to a nearby hospital, with the help of fire brigade personnel, and sources said that they are out of danger.

The trench was being dug to lay pipelines under the Asian Development Bank (ADB) scheme. Krishna Palemar, district-in-charge minister, Ganesh Hosabettu, city mayor, and other local corporators, visited the spot.
