Dubai: Oct 3 - Billawa Balaga Celebrates 11th Anniversary

Dubai, Sep 22: Billawa Balaga Dubai is celebrating its 11th anniversary with an annual family get together on 3rd October 2008.
For the 11th year celebration, Rajkumar – President of Narayana Guru Samithi Bahrain and Ex President Karnataka Sangha Bahrain will be the chief guest.
Billawa Balaga Dubai was founded in 1997 with the objective of bringing the Billawa community of Dubai together, under one umbrella to instill and nurture the culture alive in a place far away from home. The 10th anniversary was celebrated last year in a grand manner with many prominent Billawa leaders visiting the show. It also marked the launch of Billawa Balaga Mahila Vibhaga the first ever ladies wing by any Billawa organisation overseas.

On this occassion, Billawa Balaga is honoring Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of daijiworld.com.

Ashok Anchan President of Billawa Balaga Dubai added that "It gave a sense of happiness to known that we are the first non - catholic organisation to facilitate Walter Nandalike. We have always followed the principle of Brahmashree Narayana Guru of one caste, one religion and one God"
Billawa Balaga Dubai has been associated with its charity work since inception and helped in many social causes. On 28th Sept 2008 Billawa Balaga Dubai will be participating jointly along with Akila Bharata Billawa Union in the Damodar R Suvarna scholarship program in Town Hall Mangalore. Scholarship will be given to more than 400 deserving children. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will be the chief guest for the occasion.
On the same day Billawa Balaga Mahila Vibhaga will be honouring Olympian Athlete M R Poovamma of South Kanara who represented Olympics at Beijing and also handover a cheque as a token of appreciation.
Medical facility support funding will also be handed over on the same day to couple of families who have appealed to Billawa Balaga Dubai on the same day.
Representatives from Billawa Balaga Dubai and Mahila Vibhaga shall be visiting Mangalore in jointly hosting the event along with Akila Bharata Billawa Union.
Home Minister Dr V S Acharya, Minister for Fisheries, ports, small savings and lotteries Krishna Palemar, BJP State president D V Sadananad Gowda, Minister for Food and civil supplies and consumer affairs Haratalu Halappa, EX MP Vinaya Kumar Sorake and a host of other dignitaries will be present for the occasion.
Ashwin Salian commented that in these eleven years of the Billawa Balaga Dubai, we as a family have pledged to be modest, humble and gentle in success. We believe in the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom and the submissiveness of true strength. This has helped us learn to stand up in the storm and bite the stress and spur of difficulty and challenge. In these eleven years we have learnt to laugh and learnt to weep yet never forgot how to reach to the future. This year we have decided to be most humble with how we organise the event. We believe that every saving is earning and that we shall provide to educate the needy.
Manohar Tonse from Billawara Balaga Abudhabi and C R Shetty President Karnataka Sangha Dubai, convenor UAE Tulu Koota will be gracing the function as guest. Billawara Balaga Abudhabi members will also be attending the event in full strength.
