Mangaluru, Jun 18: T R Suresh on Monday June 18 once again took charge as the police commissioner of Mangaluru at the city commissionerate here.
He took over the charge from IPS officer Vipul Kumar, who is going back to his previous post as inspector general of police and director of the Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru.
T R Suresh had been the police commissioner of Mangaluru from June 2017. On April 16 this year, he was transferred as per the directions of the Election Commisson. During his tenure in the city, he was awarded the prestigious President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
After the election process was over and the new government took charge, police officials were transferred back to the posts they had held prior to the elections.
T R Suresh started his career as IPS officer in 2003. He has served in Vijaypura, Bagalkot, Uttar Kannada, Hubballi and Dharwad, and as DCP (law and order) in Mysuru, Lokayukta department in Tumakuru, additional SP in Belagavi, as SP in Kodagu, Bagalkot, Raichur and Tumakuru, DCP Bengaluru (north east), DCP (north) in Bengaluru and as DIG of fire services, Bengaluru, before taking charge as police commissioner of Mangaluru city in June 2017.
He is a native of Shivamogga and holds MBA degree.
