Puttur, Jun 19: In an amusing incident that happened at Parpunja in the taluk on Monday January 18, a youth, who works as backhoe (JCB) operator, preferred to get perched on a backhoe with his bride during his wedding procession.
The bridegroom, Chetan from Kallakatta near Santyar in the taluk wanted to show his gratefulness towards his job that enables him to earn a living, by giving the vehicle its due. After marrying Mamata at Shivakripa marriage hall at Parpunja near Santyar, Chetan got seated in the backhoe along with his bride and rode in it.
The unique wedding procession attracted the attention of scores of people.
For the purpose, Chetan had got the backhoe for which he works, stationed near the marriage hall. The vehicle had been bedecked for the occasion. As soon as marriage formalities were completed, he got seated on the vehicle and got his newlywed wife also to sit by his side. As the people around looked on, he drove the machine till Santyar.
Once he reached Santyar, Chetan along with his wife got ensconced inside the bucket attached to the backhoe and asked his friend to operate the backhoe and proceeded to his house. People in general were astonished and appreciated Chetan for his out-of-the-box idea.
