Mangaluru, Jun 21: Minister for urban development and housing U T Khader on Thursday June 21 met bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza at Bishop's House here and wished him on his 77th birthday.
The minister presented the bishop a bouquet and felicitated him with a garland, shawl and a bowl of fruits.
Speaking to daijiworld, U T Khader said,"Today bishop of Mangaluru dicose Aloysius Paul D'Souza is celebrating his birthday. I wish him great success in his every endeavour. May he continue to guide everyone.
"When I was the minister of food and civil supplies under the previous government, the bishop had invited me to several programmes. He even gave me able guidance. After becoming the minister for urban development and housing, I had wanted to meet him, and I am happy that I could meet and greet him on his birthday," he said.
Taluk panchayat president Mohammed Monu and others were present.
Birthday celebration
The birthday of bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza was celebrated at Rosario Cathedral here.
Parish priest Fr J B Crasta welcomed the bishop. A mass was offered in the church as part of the celebrations.
Mangaluru Sandesha foundation director Fr Nelson Almedia delivered the homily.
Diocese vicar general Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, episcopal vicar Dr Pius D' Souza, judicial vicar Fr Walter D'Mello, chancellor of the diocese Fr Henry D' Souza, diocese chief secretary M P Noronha, St Antony's Ashram director Fr Onil D' Souza, Father Muller Medical College administrator Fr Rudolf Ravi D'Sa and other priests, vice-president of the parish pastoral council and nuns were present.
