Mangaluru: Two arrested for attack on scrap dealer at Vamanjoor

Mangaluru, Jun 25: Taking swift action, the police on Monday June 25 arrested two persons in connection to the attack on a scrap dealer at Vamanjoor here.

Nawaz alias Nawwa (25), a resident of Banglegudde, Gurpur, and Mohammed Shahrukh alias Sharu (22) of Moodushedde were arrested by the Mangaluru rural police.

Khalid (45), a scrap dealer from Ulaibettu was allegedly attacked by a person named Raheef and five of his accomplices on Sunday June 24, reportedly for not paying them 'hafta'.

The accused Shahrukh and Nawaz are also accused in the murder of Charan near Vamanjoor petrol pump in 2016. Sources said that the same gang was behind both the crimes - Charan murder as well as the attack on the scrap dealer.

Hunt for four more accused in the attack case is on.

    What achange in mangalore at pressent.Hafta to police was there ,but now a Gujari man too have to pay.?Such ganga doesnt work but cash from hard working people.Best give gujary bag on their head and make them carry on their head.So Hafta will be paid.

    Murder charges against them and roaming freely without any fear!!! What a pathetic law and order in India? Advocates easily present bail to them in the court for the money throwing in return, so why they have to fear for rowdism? Best way is to encouter them before they commit serial murder of innocent people.
