Udupi: Landslide in Agumbe Ghat stalls vehicular traffic

Udupi, Jun 28: Weeks after Charmadi Ghat witnessed landslides following heavy rains which created havoc in the region, now vehicular movement in Agumbe Ghat has been blocked since Thursday, June 28.

Following heavy rains, seventh curve of the Agumbe Ghat suffered landslide. To avoid any untoward incident and inconvenience to the commuters, the road has been blocked for vehicular movement.

The officials have visited the spot. It is not known from when the vehicles will be allowed to move on this ghat road which connects Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts with Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

    This is a ongoing problem in the Ghat area during rainy season which need to be addressed.

    Can the govt have separate contracts. /contractors with specialized machinery/service/techniques to build up all slopes/sloping ..expertise.
    with proper Granite.. laterite//Precast hollow core..prefab concrete slabs.
    to work on all Slopes across Karnataka area.
    to have fine works to withsatnd the pressure.. earth quakes///rain falls//

    Invite the Chinese/Koreans : they will show you how to work than TALK....
