Mangaluru: Traffic chaos at Thokkottu Junction due to mess on national highway

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jun 30: The issue of traffic at Thokkottu Junction has been aggravated further due to the mess on national highway.

Huge pits are created on the road from Kallapu to Thokkottu over-bridge due to the incessant rains for the past few days. In addition, the work of flyover at Thokkottu Junction has worsened the road condition.

The workers of the company which is building Thokkottu Junction flyover are pouring gravel powder on the pits on the road in order to close them. However, the same is being washed away in a short while due to rainwater and the pits are formed again.

For the past four days the vehicles have been moving at snail's pace from Kallapu to Thokkottu over-bridge and it is taking half an hour to cover the distance of just one kilometre. Most of the city buses curtailed their trips half way for the same reason.

The pits created on the said stretch were closed by the traffic police with the help of locals on Friday, June 29 by placing stones inside the pits. The workers of national highway also put the stones in some of the pits. But it is not known to what extent this can solve the problem of traffic.

No sight of BJP bhakts in the comment section. Whenever you have real issues concerning people, they just disappear. While on the other hand, if it's an issues concerning cows or religion or modi , an army of them appears to blame the congress.

How long did kulshekar flyover take to finish?... What about the drainage system at kulur? What about the flyover at nantoor? It's not the job of the MLA to coordinate with nhai. It's that of the MP. What has Nalin done? First look into what's the duties of different representatives sir.

i think you don't know that all departments, DCs, corporation engineers, PWD department, MLA & MLCs should attend review & development meeting conducted by NHAI. And notice to all departments are sent to attend these meetings.
Even common man & corporators can attend the meeting & give their opinions, ask for progress, action plans, etc ......

for your information barring few engineers, no one attends.....

For kulshekara, Kottara fly over Ex MLA Lobo was attending,
In case of suratkal fly over & underpass near NITK, Govinda dasa... Ex MLA Bava was attending & also NITK college & Vidyadayini school officials wr attending.

Our MP Mr. Nalin Kumar is unable to solve the present problem about Mangalore Highways and Flyovers. He is non technical. We should have some one like JR Lobo or some other MP who can solve technical issues or Tender issue and deal tough with Contractors.
