Kalaburagi: Wife of income tax officer questioned in 'love Jihad' case

Daijiworld Media Network - Kalaburagi (SP)

Kalaburagi, Jul 1: Wife of Irshad Ullah Khan, deputy commissioner of commercial taxes in the city, was questioned relating to a case of alleged 'love Jihad'. In this connection, her laptop and cellphone were seized. The officer is currently posted in the city.

Reports say that the said case involves a Hindu girl from Gujarat and Muslim male from Kerala. It is said that Khan's wife was in contact with the girl when the latter was studying in Bengaluru during 2014-15. The girl had fallen in love with a Muslim boy studying in the same college. Sources said that initially the two were friends and soon fell in love and got married.

The girl embraced Islam thereafter and started living in Jeddah as the boy's parents stayed there. The girl found it impossible to get used to the culture of the family. The lady finally left her husband and returned to her parents in Gujarat, it is gathered.

Thereafter a private complaint was filed in Kerala high court in January, alleging that the girl was forced to convert. The complaint also stated that the girl was sexually harassed by other people in Saudi. It was also said that there were plans to send her to Syria to fight for Islamic State. As Islamic State was named in the case, the case was handed over to National Investigation Agency. In her statement recorded by the agency, the girl stated about her Bengaluru stay and her contact with the family of the commercial taxes officer.

Irshad Ullah Khan said he and his wife will cooperate with the authorities and that the officials have recorded his wife's statement besides taking away her laptop and phone. Khan also said that his wife had spoken to the girl only once without really knowing her, and insisted that she had no role in the matter.

The lady, living in Diamond District apartment at Jeevan Bima Nagar, Bengaluru, was subjected to questioning by National Investigation Agency, which also seized her laptop and cellphone. They were taken away to check whether the two were still in touch with each other and also whether Khan's wife had in any way helped or sheltered the couple in the past, sources stated.

It is learnt that the NIA officials have seized eight laptops and 12 mobile phones. Khan's wife was later released.

When a newly married woman is made to stay with her mother-in-law, the Third World War begins.

What a waste of the time/resources of the Government! Especially the National Investigation Agency (NIA)?

The NIA's only job seems to be the 'cracking' of the Love Jehad cases.

The NIA is clueless when various persons with the surname of Modi rob India of thousands of crores, and leave the country!

You are Right. Don't give your daughter or sister (if any) in marriage. Modi surnames already troubled the nation.

Stay away or find a suitable country.

One has the right to marry whom he or she wishes and our Constitution allows it. However, considering the present ongoing scenario in India, I would not advise Hindus and Muslims to choose a partner from other religions as it would create a lots of tension not only to the couples and their families but also to their communities. This could be avoided if the boys and girls choose their partner from their own religion. Our India is not yet made for inter-caste marriages.
Earlier, when a person married from a different community, only his or her family and close relatives had to deal with the issue. Now it is becoming a national issue. India is a fast developing country but in many issues it is still undeveloped.

First, girl and boy are friends. Then, they have fallen in love and married. Being both belongs to different religion. one partner opt to convert and then both stayed in Saudi Arabia.

Being now the marriage is broken, the wife/girl want to file a case against husband and his family. In Saudi Arabia, except husband, no body can touch the wife. Even now they have very strict laws and they implement the same. Saudi Arabai is not soft banana republic.

why wonder, We are family of 5 and we have 7 laptops and 13 mobile phones ( out of 13 four are outdated).

This has become a trend now use the opportunity of Love Jihad, ISIS, Syria and take revenge on boy if they cannot live together. if she can leave KSA means the voys family is reasonable or otherwise in gulf countries until and unless sponsor (here her husband) cancels the visa she cannot travel.

some months back one of my neighbour Shetty uncle ( with respect we call them shettre)aged guy running a coconut and spice mill was been arrested on rape case, the lady who filed the complaint was working with him in his mill and she asked for some loan and he has denied her with loan, fater that she was not coming to work properly for which shetty uncle warned her to come work on time and do her duty properly and the result was he has been arrested on rape case and got bail.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've noticed that recently most Hindu-Muslim inter-religious marriages are falling apart soon, why? I think its hard for one to accept the other religion's practices, their culture, food or worried about social rejection? . Why cant they think it before accepting another religion?.

The reason is very simple. First is the threat from hindutva forces which we see all the time hindu girls are harrassed whenever they mingle with minority boys, valantine days is turning them as dark day, they are restricted to wear the dresses they dictatw.
Secondly as we are witnessing in current affairs news, the domestic violence in majority community against the women increased. Couples are either seperating or taking extreme steps by taking their lives.

    Good point.
One reason is that the boys on one side want to settle in life, get their sister married off, own a house ,flat and then marry.. that will be 28-30 min. that is too late for the girls to marry.
on the other hand, there are these romeos who do all kinds of odd jobs, who take mobile no of innocent girls and start flirting.. girls at young age dont understand that they are trapped for life. suffering or run away like this.

The story seems true until 3rd paragraph, rest is typical Indian twists in the story especially when the girl is from Hindu community.
Even in arranged marriages, it's common to have certain disagreements and bad experiences within families. It's funny (Dangerous as well) to see how frustrated Bhakths waiting for an opportunity to connect family matters to ISIS, SYRIA. Nowadays every interfaith love story is linked to terrorism for political gain. And those who involved are tortured every day by in the name of investigation and Media...

I'm not convinced about the ISIS involvement here. First of all she was not a child when she is married and accepted the other religion. It is hard to live with people of different thought process, habits, let alone religion, that too in India. She should have the awareness of these after marriage. In the western society, people of different faith can live one house because they don't interfere in others personal choices. India is different, even to wear a jeans, the girl had to ask permission from her parents, brothers (things changed now) The question of sexual harassment from others in Saudi. I am sorry, if she was brave enough in Saudi to tell the truth (if is really so) we know those responsible could have hanged there. I will treat as another divorce which happens in love marriage or even with arranged marriage.

    Dear bhakth of Aseemanad,
Who stops you from praying in the airport. We really want to see you guys become more religious and a true Muslim will always respect others faiths and rituals. FOR MUSLIMS IT'S COMPULSORY TO PRAY 5 TIMES ON SPECIFIC TIME so the facility is required but why feel jealous of Muslims in each and everything. SCARF, MARRIAGE, ADZAN, PRAYER.. seems the shaka's considered of Muslims instead of 100's of other issues.
