Bengaluru, Jul 1: A day before the commencement of the first joint session of the current legislature session after the H D Kumaraswamy-led JD(S)-Congress coalition government assumed office, the five-member Coordination Committee headed by the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah approved the government’s Common Minimum Programme (CMP) on Sunday
The CMP includes waiver of farm loans and creation one crore jobs, allocation of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for irrigation over the next five years, construction of 20 lakh houses for the homeless families in the State during the next five years.
Formulation of new Sate sports policy and universal health policy, popularly called as “Arogya Karnataka” have also been included in the CMP.
All the flagship programme of the previous Siddaramaiah government have been included in the CMP, said Co-ordination Committee Convenor Danish Ali.
The five member committee constituted to draft the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) submitted its draft to the Coordination Committee and it approved it with “minor changes,” Ali said.
The JD(S) leader Ali said the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who holds the finance portfolio, will present a budget of the new government on July 5 and provide detailed guidelines of the farm loan waiver scheme.
Speaking to reporters, Kumaraswamy said “all went smoothly” and there were no differences between two parties on waiver of crop loans.
The CMP has given priority to the Skill Development Programme, which was launched during the previous Congress regime.
The irrigation sector also got due priority in keeping with the policies oc the two parties and adequate funds would be allocated in the state budget for the sector, the Chief Minister said.
