Bengaluru: Former MP Dhananjay Kumar hospitalized, condition serious

Bengaluru, Jul 2: Senior politician and former Union minister V Dhananjay Kumar has been hospitalized. His condition is said to be serious.

Dhananjay Kumar, who has been suffering from a kidney ailment, was admitted to a private hospital three days back. His health situation worsened and he was shifted to intensive care unit on Sunday.

Dhananjay was Member of Parliament of erstwhile Mangalore Lok Sabha constituency for four successive terms representing BJP. Before that he was MLA.

He served as Union minister thrice when BJP was in power. He was cabinet minister for civil aviation and tourism in 1996, minister of state for finance from 1999–2000 and minister of state for textiles from 2000–2003.

Dhananjay Kumar, who was in BJP since he started his political career, was also one of the founder members Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP). He joined Congress last year.
