Saudi Arabia: Security Tightened for Eid

Jeddah, Sep 29: Security brigades and field forces will be deployed all over the Jeddah Municipality during the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations to ensure the safety and security of residents and visitors, Director of Jeddah Police Gen. Ali ibn Muhammad Al-Saadi said.

Al-Madinah newspaper quoted the official as saying that the security forces will be stationed in public places to help the visitors and vacationers enjoy their time in safety and comfort.

Al-Ghamdi said thoroughly studied security plans and mechanisms were formulated to help people enjoy the occasion without any incidents. He added that the security forces would be supplied with all the required equipment to provide aid in case of any need during Eid.

He explained that the security forces will be deployed in all key places including the Eid prayer locations, supermarkets, amusement parks, restaurants, gardens, seashores and the Corniche.

Al-Ghamdi urged all residents and visitors to abide by the safety instructions in order to have an accident-free Eid. He also cautioned them against abusing their personal freedom to harm others. “Your personal freedom should not be at the expense of the freedom of others,” he said.

Al-Ghamdi asked the residents and visitors to help security forces spread security in the city and said this is for the good of everyone.
