Kasargod: Bike-borne robbers spray chilli powder, rob young biker

Kasargod, Jul 3: In an incident which happened near Badur in the district on the evening of Monday July 2, a youth riding a motor was waylaid by a gang of robbers which arrived in another motor bike. The gang then sprayed chilli powder into the youth's eyes and robbed gold ornaments and cash found to be in his possession.

It is gathered that the biker had 15 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 90,000 in cash when he was robbed.

The victim, identified as Suhail (28) from Mogral here was reportedly carrying the ornaments and cash to the house of his sister at Perla when he came under attack.

The gang apparently followed him in another bike, waited for suitable opportunity, and used chilli powder to blind him, before forcibly taking away cash and valuables.

The youth stands admitted into the government hospital here.

Police personnel from Badiadka station visited the spot, gathered the details and took up investigation.
