Mangaluru: Newly appointed Bishop Dr Peter Paul visits native place

Mangaluru, Jul 4: Newly appointed Bishop of Mangaluru diocese, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, visited Our Lady of Remedies Church, Kirem, Aikala near Kinnigoli in the taluk in the company of Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza and offered special service.

Thereafter, he visited Kajeguri, Aikala, where he was born and brought up. He stayed for Tuesday night at the house of his elder brother, the late Cyril Saldanha at Nelligudde near Kajeguri. He would be returning to the city on Wednesday. 

 

 

With the appointment of Dr Peter Paul Saldanha as bishop, Kinnigoli area has got credit for contributing four bishops to religious service. In the past, Dr Raymond D’Mello who was bishop of Mangaluru from 1959-1963, Dr Robert Miranda, present bishop of Gulbarga, Dr Henry D’Souza, present bishop of Bellary from here had become bishops.

    Hardly seen any tiles house these days mostly concreat houses. The tiles houses are so cool ,natural airconditioning better than any 5 star hotels.

    New Bishop is a down to earth, humble, polite, simple is too good for this position.
    However, going by the good advisory committee, would definitely be a safe journey.
