The meteorological department has predicted possibility of huge waves rising from the sea in the coastal belt because of strong wind. It has asked the fishermen to stay away from sea on Saturday and Sunday.
As wind with a velocity of 35 to 45 km per hour is blowing between Karnataka coast and Lakshadweep, and as there is possibility of this wind gaining speed of 55 to 60 km per hour, waves with a height of ten to 15 feet are likely to rise from 5 pm on Friday to midnight on July 22, the meteorological department stated.
