Udupi, Jul 23: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is lying. But people still believe him due to the way he talks. AICC president Rahul Gandhi tells the truth, but people laugh at him. People do not have faith in Yeddyurappa too. Rahul Gandhi said 'Let us win anger with love'. This is very true, but people are criticising him,” said well-known director-cum-playwright and thinker Prasanna.
He was addressing the gathering at 'Hey Ram', Ramayana interaction programme at Dvanyaloka, MGM College here on Sunday, July 22.
“Many youths are joining Bajrang Dal to get identity. Bajrang Dal misuses poor youths. There is need for ‘Shudras’ to understand the real meaning of Ramayana. I would like to see a peaceful society before my life ends. Let us express truth with courage,” he added.
“Internal problems of Hindu religion are now increasing. Valmiki’s Ramayana scripture was in the hands of Brahmins for 2000 years. They added new slokas to it. Ramayana’s reality was lost to the prominence of Brahmins,” he said.
“I am not a hater of modernisation, but I hate technology advancement. It took away jobs from our hands. Nowadays, the rate of violence is increasing as humans have lesser faith in God.
“People are producing products which are useless. Handmade products have real value. They need to be promoted for ecological balance and our survival. We are so much attached to lavish life style which should not be encouraged,” he continued.
“Ram Rajya and Gram Rajya both are contemporary. We must be ready to be face tough situations and also to become martyr when building the Ram Mandir. For that we have to pronounce 'Hey Ram'. The word 'Hey Ram' expresses sympathy.
“It is very tough to be a good person in the society. We fear cancer, but cancer patients think differently. There is a need to overcome this fear. We must understand how to manage political, social and cultural problems,” he said.
Speaking on Swami Vivekananda, he said, “He was a great reformer. But unfortunately people are highlighting him as an ambassador or promoter of Hindu Dharma. If he existed in the current era, definitely people would have killed him. He ate beef in America and expressed it with others intentionally without fear, not to hurt the feelings of Hindu people, but to reveal the truth.”
Prasanna quoted the statement of Vivekananda and concluded, “If people have intention to save cow, let farmers keep cow at their fields.”
Dr Mahabaleshwar, writer and thinker and Phaniraj were present.
