Bengaluru, Jul 24: Officials of the special investigation team (SIT) probing the murder of journalist, Gauri Lankesh, has arrested two more accused relating to this case. Both were produced in the court and remanded to police custody.

The identities of the arrested accused have been given as Ganesh Miskin (27) and Amit Baddi alias Amit (27) from Hubballi.

Both were arrested from Hubballi on the evening of Sunday July 22 and brought to the city. SIT officials said that these two are suspected to have extended cooperation to the accused in the case, who have already been arrested.

After reaching the city on Monday, the officials produced them in the third additional chief metropolitan magistrate's court. Advocate for SIT sought 15 days police custody of the accused. The court, which approved the request, handed both of them to 14 days police custody.

With this, the total number of arrests in this case has risen to ten. Amol Kale, K T Naveen Kumar, Parashuram Waghmare, Manohar Evade, Amith Digvekar, Sujit Kumar, and Mohan Nayak were arrested in the case earlier. The officials want to take the two to Goa, Maharashtra, Belagavi, Dakshina Kannada etc as they have information about the gun and motor bike used for Gauri's killing, in a bid to reconstruct the turn of events, sources said. They were arrested reportedly on the basis of information collected from Mohan Nayak.

So still all are just 'suspected' and coerced to provided statements. Speculated news going on keeping public on the toes. Soon it will be Gauri Anniversary and one more candle light march. The achievement by the Govt would be only 'suspects are jailed and interrogation is on'. Few months later, down the line, they would be released under the pretext 'lack of evidence'.
