Bengaluru: Taiwanese firm to invest Rs 3,000 crore in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jul 25 (IANS): Taiwanese industrial major Wistron Technologies would invest Rs 3,000 crore in the Narasupra industrial sector in Karnataka's Kolar, an official statement said on Tuesday.

"Welcoming the huge investment, Chief Minister H D Kumarasway told an expert team from Wistron to submit its proposal for granting land for the company," said the statement from the Chief Minister's Office.

He advised the company to set up a mobile repair and technology facility in the Narsapura industrial sector, about 100 km from Bengaluru, it said.

"Wistron India head Gururaj said the company said would set up a i-phone making unit in the 43 acres of land allotted to it, with employment potential to 10,500 people," said the statement.

State Revenue Minister R. V Deshpande said an agreement would be signed in a week with the company to provide employment to locals.

If I rewind the history 'Made in Taiwan' is once the quality mark on every childrhens toys.
The following export product groups represent the highest dollar value in Taiwanese global shipments during 2017. Also shown is the percentage share each export category represents in terms of overall exports from Taiwan.

Electrical machinery, equipment: US$141.5 billion (44.5% of total exports)
Machinery including computers: $36.6 billion (11.5%)
Plastics, plastic articles: $20.3 billion (6.4%)
Optical, technical, medical apparatus: $16.4 billion (5.2%)
Mineral fuels including oil: $10.9 billion (3.4%)
    Vehicles: $9.7 billion (3.1%)
    Iron, steel: $9.7 billion (3%)
    Organic chemicals: $9.6 billion (3.0%)
Articles of iron or steel: $7.7 billion (2.4%)
    Copper: $4.7 billion (1.5%)

I would say this is the right choice of the JD(S)-Congress coalition in terms of investment.

I would emphasis Chief Minister H D Kumarasway coalition government to open the sector for domestic level wind power gernerators and Telsa based enviormental solutions to enhnce the power sector and depended on fossil fuel and coal imports.
In other hand Aviation and Toursim which has huge potential need extra attention.

After E-Mandi success in Karnataka, I would request the government to look in Fresh agricuture product storage. Rural based domestic textile technology can with cheap labour and intense and creative skill need boost.

    Jai Karnataka
    Jai Hind

It is really good news Taiwan is investing in Karnataka.

I thought , you are a sensible and educated person, but your comment on Modis visit to Rwanda and Uganda shows your ignorance of world affairs. Africa is the upcoming golden egg for all devoloping get and devolped countries. It is better to build a good relationship to improve our exports and technology transfer.
Secondly gift of cows is to encourage a local intiative of helping villagers to raise milk production. The villager who gets these gift has to donate the first calves born to another poor man who does not have. There is a name for this programme which I don't recollect.
Modi gift is a symbolic one, on behalf of India to programme if helping us under privileged.
